“T Dub” (as he is affectionately called by his fans) touches on subjects such as the way men and women think and respond differently sometimes, how to handle the situation when infidelity is involved, what to do if your ex is already dating someone else, how to keep your relationship on track once you have reconciled, and what to do it if it turns out the relationship just cannot be saved. While I hesitate to use the term “psychological tricks” as some have described his methods, he does explain how certain aspects of human nature and psychology can be used to your advantage in creating an atmosphere likely to get the kind of response you want from your ex.
The Magic of Making Up offers a detailed plan of action, covering what to do and say and when and how to do it. Included are specific techniques for things like reconnecting with your partner, and making an effective apology if one is needed (don’t worry, he tells you how to tell if one is needed or not, when is the right time, and why the wrong apology will actually backfire on you).
As a bonus, The Magic of Making Up also includes a carefully crafted “Second Chance” letter, which you can use as is or rewrite if you like. Here’s my little bonus to you right now - - you’d better rewrite it. Imagine this scenario: you send the letter as is, it works its magic and you are happily reunited with the love of your life. Yay! A year goes by, and your wife’s best girlfriend gets dumped. She buys this wonderful book she’s heard so many good things about, The Magic of Making Up. As she and your wife go through it together, lo and behold, there’s your letter! “I thought you wrote this amazing letter just for me - - you copied it out of some book?” Uh oh. You’re in the doghouse again.
We actually gave The Magic of Making Up only 4 stars, reason being, the book itself is only 60+ pages, not counting the 3 bonus reports that come with it. We really would have liked to have seen it developed just a bit more, maybe a look at some less common problems some couples face, or explore some of the core ideas a little further. I suppose that at this point, you may not be in the mood to read a giant tome, you might just want to know what to do so you can take action now, but we would like a little more for our money.
We did, however, give an extra star because we have been following T Dub for a couple years now, have had the occasion to deal with him in business, and found him to be a down-to-earth, honest and ethical businessman who genuinely cares about helping his customers. He does provide a customer only email address you can use if you have questions specific to your situation that the book does not answer for you.
